Loans for members

Borrow from people who know your name.

For school fees, a store's stock, a roof before the rains. Fair interest, a schedule you can read, and part of every loan builds your own share capital.

How a loan is decided

From application to release

  1. Apply

At the window, or from the member portal. Say how much, for how long and what it is for.

  2. The credit officer checks

Your share capital, your record with the coop, your co-maker. Nothing is decided by a stranger.

  3. The credit committee decides

Members elected by the general assembly approve or decline, usually within the week.

  4. Release

Credited to your savings or paid in cash, less the deductions shown before you sign.

A payment missed by more than its grace days carries a penalty on the amount overdue. Every payment is applied to the penalty first, then interest, then principal, and your official receipt shows the split.
